Across the city NGOs are working at a local level to address important social issues, whether it be through providing education to lower socio-economic children, maintaining or increasing access to healthcare for vulnerable populations, assisting women's empowerment, protecting the environment, or providing sustainable skill training leading to a better livelihood, these NGOs are pioneering our journey towards social change in Ahmedabad. QI to Happiness Foundation
Qi To Happiness Foundation is an initiative to promote the compassionate treatment of people and animals through education, advocacy, and sustainable interventions. Their ethos is to contribute towards United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) by delving into: - Good health and well-being - Quality education - Decent work and economic growth - Peace, justice and strong institutions.
Visamo Kids Foundation
Visamo Kids Foundation (VKF), an Ahmedabad based NGO, works towards providing free education to poor children coming from underprivileged (under poverty line) families from all over Gujarat.
Visamo, a truly sustainable, fresh, vital and dynamic initiative, started off with 18 underprivileged children from the poorest of the poor families from earthquake affected regions of Gujarat. Since its initiation in 2002, soon after the massive earthquake that shook the whole of Gujarat, VKF has focused on working towards empowering lives by facilitating access to quality education and secured environment to the underprivileged children of Gujarat.
Palash Foundation
Palash Foundation is an NGO based out of Kolkata operating across India promoting the youngsters towards Entrepreneurship. Scarcity of jobs, lack of guidance and non-availability of funds makes thousands of youngsters sit idle with their talent underutilized or neglected. Palash Foundation gives wings to those dreams and promotes living with a cause for these youngsters creating self-employment and self-respect.
The foundation is run by visionaries from different fields who promote the cause of self-independence and work relentlessly to identify talent in order to offer them the platform every individual should deserve.
Sense International India
Sense International India (also known as Sense India) is the only national-level organization supporting needs-based services which enable children and adults with deaf blindness to overcome the challenges caused by deaf blindness. Sense India's key objective is to provide information, guidance, support, and training needed along with being committed to helping persons with deaf blindness and multiple disabilities and their families by raising awareness and campaigning for rights, opportunities, and services throughout the nation
