Women.Social.Impact by i2u Hails Women’s Contribution to Society

Summary: i2u Social Foundation celebrated International Women’s Day with the closing ceremony for their Women.Social.Impact event in recognition of all the women who make lives liveable and the society sustainable. Distinguished guests, speakers, panelists, jury members, NGOs, corporate, and volunteers graced the event during which winners for the campaign were announced.

Wednesday, 9 March 2022: Women have a deep impact on our society and deliver multiple roles effortlessly throughout their lives that transform our society progressively. It is this change that i2u Social Foundation celebrated through the closing ceremony of their event- Women.Social.Impact held on International Women’s Day. The event was supported by Crystal Hues Limited, CHLEAR, and BITS, in association with partners Unicharm, Aakar Innovation, and ABCD International Family.

Focusing on Sustainable Development Goal SDG 5 - Gender Equality, the campaign invited NGOs to share stories of their work done in the field of women empowerment and women’s welfare.

A jury of distinguished individuals including Manisha Singh (Brand Storyteller, Social Campaigns Evangelist, Influencer, and Digital Reputation Management Expert), Shatarupa Dasgupta (Chief Operating Officer, FairGaze), and Jaydeep Mandal (Founder & MD- Aakar Innovations Pvt. Ltd) declared Helping Hand Foundation, Shirdi Sai Baba Temple Society, and Center of Education And Health Research Organization as the winners. Top cyclist Romil Verma was appreciated for his efforts in the Ride-For-A-Cause Fundraiser and was requested to grace the occasion as a panelist.

Winners were interviewed by ABCD International Family on their platform. The event began with a beautiful heartwarming dance performance Rasika Gumaste, on the poem written by Subhojit, and recited by Swapnil. Hosted by Dr. Tazyn Rahman and moderated by Pooja Grover, the event facilitated discussion on relevant issues like women’s rights and social awareness, obstacles women face in their careers, empowerment of women in rural areas, and gender equality. Speakers including Dr. Suvrokamal Dutta (renowned right-wing media think-tank and acclaimed political economic and foreign policy expert), Deepshikha Kumar (Founder - eSpeakIn), Sandeep Nulkar (President- CITLoB, and Founder of BITS Private Limited and Vernac Language Technologies), Shilpa Mittal Singh (Joint Managing Director at Women on Wings), Stuti Kacker (Advisory Board Member of i2u Social Foundation, Former Chairperson of National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights), Abhishek Sharma (Senior Project Officer, Corporate Social Responsibility at HCL), Manisha Singh, Shatarupa Dasgupta, and Jaydeep Mandal expressed their views on various women welfare-related topics.

Speaking at the event, i2u Social Foundation Head, Alisha Vijoy congratulated everyone on the success of Women.Social.Impact campaign. She invited guests and audience to join i2u Social Foundation in its flagship campaign #OneDayForFuture and urged everyone to donate their one day’s worth of time or earnings for social causes.
