About the NGO
Cheshire Homes is a worldwide organisation, founded by Group Captain Lord Leonard Cheshire, to support
and provide relief to physically challenged girls and women. The movement has grown from a single
Home after WW II to Homes in 54 countries.
Cheshire Homes India, Bangalore is a registered Society, managed by a management committee in
accordance with the Rules, Regulations and Bye&ndash laws of the Society. All committee members are honorary
volunteers and not eligible for any form of financial benefit.

The HAL Airport Road Home
The Whitefield Home
Both these locations are built around an eco-friendly environment with open spaces, greenery, and
water harvesting. The infrastructure is disabled friendly and also powered by solar lighting and
heating.
This Home is a refuge for elderly and severely physically challenged women. They are cared for and
they live in dignity during their sunset years.
Situated in an eco-friendly location among trees, flowering and vegetable plants.
Has a capacity for looking after 35 residents with individual cubicles, shared rooms and
dormitory facilities
Provide and promote activities such as needlework, paper bag making and other crafts. This is
therapeutic and enables them to earn pocket money.
Has an infirmary block with physiotherapy facilities
Has trained nursing staff and visiting doctors
