About the NGO

Adharshila for Sustainable Socio-Economic Transformation & Welfare (ASSET & W) is a non-profit organization founded in India as the official partner of Heifer International, a global initiative dedicated to eradicating hunger, poverty, and preserving the environment. ASSET & W works in alignment with Heifer International's vision for India, actively translating these goals into reality.

Heifer International and ASSET & W are fully committed to collaborating closely to achieve mutual objectives. Their primary focus is on enhancing household incomes by recognizing women as significant contributors to family earnings, thereby empowering them significantly.

Through partnerships with various stakeholders and institutions at multiple tiers, They are actively building an environment that supports the growth of community-based businesses. These ventures aim to provide sustainable and fair returns to small-scale farmers and producers, ultimately leading to improved household incomes. Our strategy also places a strong emphasis on promoting family-level nutrition and implementing environmentally sound practices.

Established in January 2014, ASSET & W operates programs in the states of Jharkhand and Bihar, with previous projects successfully executed in Delhi NCR, Rajasthan, Sikkim, and Uttar Pradesh.
