Delhi Health Minister Launches 'Mahavari ki Kahaani, Sachhi Saheli ki Jubani’, a Booklet by India Is Us in Association with Sachhi Saheli

New Delhi, January 30, 2018: India Is Us, in association with Sachhi Saheli launched an informative booklet about periods at the Delhi Secretariat on 24th January, 2018. The booklet was unveiled by Delhi Health Minister, Mr. Satyendra Kumar Jain. The event was presided by Ms. Shilpa Shinde, Director, Department of Women and Child Development. The information booklet, titled, 'Mahavari ki Kahaani, Sachi Saheli ki Jubani', explains periods to young girls in a simple language using illustrations. Jasvinder Singh from Crystal Hues says, "This project has been very close to our heart. It has been very fulfilling to create something so meaningful."
"A book on periods is the need of the hour. With so many questions arising in the young minds, it is always better to get the answers from a knowledgeable professional," says Dr Surabhi Singh, founder Sachhi Saheli - an NGO that works towards spreading awareness on menstrual hygiene. "A lot of research has gone into making this book child friendly. Our task was to create a communication which is informative, yet, not intimidating." said Padmini Rao from Crystal Hues Limited.
'Mahavari ki Kahaani, Sachhi Saheli ki Jubani' booklet has been designed by India Is Us, a CSR initiative of Crystal Hues Limited, an ISO 9001:2015 company which offers 360-degree communication solutions to over 1,000 companies across the globe. "Being a 360 degree communication agency, it becomes our responsibility to help good causes communicate better and reach a wider audience," said Ms Rachna Sudheen, Director, Crystal Hues Limited.
The Delhi Government intends to distribute this booklet amongst all students at NDMC schools. With time, this will also be translated into other regional languages for a wider reach.
